Thanks Dughallmor Beagles, Happy Father's Day, and Hiatus

Hi everyone! It's Joey and Zeke writing together today, and we have lots to tell you.

We received a wonderful package from Snoop, Alfie, Rosie, and Gabbi for being the 100th followers of their blog, The Dughallmor Beagles. Can you believe all this great stuff? Wow! There was even a loofah shower soap for our mom and dad. Thank you so much, Snoop, Alfie, Rosie, and Gabbi - we were honored to be the 100th followers of your blog and we love our presents - you're the best!

Also, tomorrow is Father's Day and we want to say Happy Father's Day to all the dog dads and human dads out there. Here's the card we got for our dad. Doesn't it look like us?

Here's what it says inside -

We hope he likes it!

And finally, starting today, we're going on hiatus. We have some time-consuming house remodeling projects going on, our mom is starting to spend more time on real estate, and we just need to take a break from spending so much time dog blogging. We love all our pooch pals very much and I'm sure we'll check in on you, but we're going to take a break for awhile. How long will we be gone and will we be back? We don't know, so for now we're just going to say -

See ya!

True Colours Thursday

Hi everyone, it's Zeke. Today I'm getting to post because it's black and tan together day, and I'm a black and tan German Shepherd.

Here I am in the back yard. See my black coat and tan legs?

I also have some tan spots on my cheeks, my chest, and my tail.

Here's Joey rolling in the grass. He told me he counts as black and tan together, too, but I wish he'd stand up so I can tell.

That's better. Well, I guess you could say his fur is kind of goldish-tan, but where's the black?

Oh, there it is - on his nosie!

We also have black and tan on our German Shepherd mug.

And on our kitchen calendar.

If you'd like to play True Colours Thursday, just visit Blue. It's fun!

Love,
Zeke

The dog wants in

Have you ever wanted to go in the door but your parents just won't stop taking pictures of you? We know that feeling!

"I'd like to go in, please."

"Yes, I know I'm cute. Can I go in now?"

"I'm a good boy. Will someone please open the door for me?"

"Pretty please?"

Don't worry - after that, we went in! Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Love,
Joey and Zeke

Zeke is 7 months old

Hi everyone! Zeke is 7 months old today. He's happy and healthy, and we even remembered to change his age in our sidebar. Woo hoo!

Here we are in the back yard watching some birds near the fence. Zeke may be big, but I'm in charge of deciding when to chase the birdies.

I'm also in charge of inspecting the flowers. My mom's been doing a lot of gardening lately. Right behind me is a new orchid she just planted. The last orchid mysteriously disappeared.

Here's Zeke and me keeping my mom company while she gardens. The grass is finally coming back after a long dry spell.

What, Zekie? You want to wrestle?

That's fine with me!

Takedown!

Yep, Zeke's getting big, but I'm still the big brother around here!

See ya!

Just how big IS Zekie, anyway?

Many of you have noticed how big Zekie is getting. Well, I have to admit, I've noticed it myself! Considering that he's my little baby bro (I'm almost a year and a month older than he is) he's been making me feel kind of shrimpy lately.

Here's a picture of us in the back yard. See what I mean about shrimpy?

But just how big IS Zekie? And - this is the big question in our family - is he as big as Freddie, the gentle giant of a Shepherd who's waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge?

Aw, there's my mom and Fred.

To find out, let's look at the statistics. My dad measured Freddie at the shoulder when he was 2 or 3 years old and he was 27 inches tall. My dad just measured Zeke and he was 26 inches tall. Zeke will be seven months old next Tuesday, so he's probably reached his full height, don't you think? (If you must know, I'm 21 inches tall - sigh!)

Then there's the weight statistics. Freddie weighed 63 pounds at six months, 93 pounds at one year old, and 101 pounds at 3 years old. We just weighed Zeke, and he weighed 77 pounds. Will he weigh over 100 pounds when he's full grown? Maybe, especially if he gets as good as I am at begging for treats. (By the way, I weigh 55 pounds.)

So that's the story. Zeke's big, I'm medium, and Freddie still has the record as the tallest family dog. Fred may have left big pawprints to fill, but between Zeke and me, I think we're doing a pretty good job.

See ya!

Errands!

Today Zeke and I got to go on errands again. Yippee! First we headed to the water department to pay our water bill.

Here I am on the way there, making sure my dad knows which way to go.

The water department has a drive-through window just for paying bills. Oh good - there's only one car ahead of us.

Here we are waiting our turn. Can you see me looking out the back?

Here's my dad putting our bill in the container.

Hello? Is there anybody there? Zeke and I always hope they'll give us doggie biscuits, but all they ever give us is a little piece of paper.

Next we went to the main branch of the Hollywood library, which is right next door to the water department. My mom had a book to return, so we went through the drive-through book drop.

They don't give doggie biscuits, either.

After that, we went home. I was hoping we might get to go to the gas station or the bank or McDonald's, but I guess we didn't need gas, money, or yummy food today - hmph!

See ya!

True Colours Thursday

Hi, it's Zeke! Today we're playing True Colours Thursday, the blogging game hosted by Blue. Today's color is cobalt, or bright blue.

Well, Joey and I had such a good time making FaceInHole pictures for Minnie Moo's challenge a few weeks back (you can see us as Crocodile Dundee Joey and Zekewell Smart here) that for today's True Colours Thursday we decided to go back to FaceInHole and see what we could find in cobalt.

Here's Joey Trump wearing a cobalt blazer.

Here's Vanilla Ice Joey with cobalt on his sleeves and pants.

Wow! It's Super Joey in his red, yellow and cobalt super suit!

And here's Captain Joey and his Love Boat crew with the cobalt ocean behind them.

And this needs no explanation - it's Joey Presley in a cobalt scarf, of course!

Finally, here I am as Zeke Costeau, undersea explorer, wearing a cobalt shirt. It was really hard to find FaceInHole pictures with cobalt for me. I don't know why, but I've been thinking about it and I think I probably look better as myself.

Here I am in my old cobalt collar - one of the last pictures of me wearing it before I outgrew it.

To find out more about True Colours Thursday and how you can play, too, visit Blue.

Love,
Zeke
